Bahcelievler Aydin Dogan MTAL

Aydin Dogan Vocational and Tech. High School was founded in İstanbul, 1998 to train skilled workforce needed for media sector. The school offers journalism and Radio Television educational programmes.

15-18 aged students receive 4 years education in the school. At their last grade they have placements in Kanal D, CNN Turk and Hurriyet Newspaper which are main stream media in Turkey. Aydın Doğan Vocational and Tech. High School has had a high profile in strengthening the Turkish Vocational Education system through a project (SVET) that was funded by EU in 2006. With this project the Turkish Vocational Educational System has been transformed into EU modular systems by the Turkish National Education Authority.  The school was the coordinator of the Journalism and Radio TV branches this project. In this context the school helped to prepare, develop and change the curriculum available across Turkey.

The school provides the education of Audio visual media and associated activities and it also has the duty of coordinating other such schools.

The school has the experience of preparing and delivering the modular curriculum and have coordinated this with other schools.

The school have strong cooperation with media sector such as Hürriyet, Radikal, Kanal D, CNN Turk which are main stream media. Students have been training as an internship in these media brands.

The unemployment rate of youth is high in Turkey. (%19.1 among 15-24 years old according to Turkish Statistic Institute 2014). In vocational education cooperation there are some problems between the school and sector. Because of this VET schools cannot supply sectoral demands and cannot follow the technological and industrial changes. That is a main cause of unemployment of young people.
